On the afternoon of November 13th, Adrian Price Howard, professor of the Business School and mentor of enterprise development of the University of Northampton, Yu Lijuan, director of the International Cooperation Program, visited Hebei International Studies University. Chen Wei, Vice President of Foreign Affairs of Hebei International Studies University, Wang Yunli, Deputy Director of the International Department, warmly meet the delegation. The two sides held cordial talks and signed a cooperation agreement, reaching broad consensus on further deepening exchanges and cooperation between the two universities.
During the meeting, Vice
President Chen Wei and Professor Adrian Price Howard jointly reviewed the
fruitful achievements made by the two universities in their previous exchanges
and fully affirmed their past cooperation. Both sides exchanged in-depth views
on topics such as teacher-student visits, academic research, and professional
co-construction, and unanimously agreed to expand cooperation areas and enhance
cooperation levels on the existing basis, in order to support the high-quality
development of the education industry of the two universities. After the
meeting, Chen Wei and Adrian Price Howard signed the cooperation agreement on
behalf of the two universities, laying a solid foundation for future
cooperation.
After the signing ceremony, Professor Adrian Price Howard and Director Yu Lijuan gave a special lecture titled “Cross Cultural Communication in International Business” to the faculty and students of Hebei International Studies University, which combined with their own research fields and won a warm response from the on-site faculty and students. In the lecture, Professor Adrian Price Howard used the term “future” as a starting point and wonderfully decomposed it into six dimensions: Fast, Urban, etc. Combining real-life examples, cultural theories, and Chinese English data comparisons, he analyzed the cultural differences and cross-cultural communication skills between the East and the West in a simple and understandable way. Director Yu Lijuan focused on the learning characteristics and growth needs of Chinese and foreign students, and provided a detailed introduction to the support system for international students of University of Northampton, providing valuable international learning references for the students present.
After the lecture, accompanied by Vice President Chen Wei and Deputy Director Wang Yunli, the delegation visited teaching and research facilities such as the History Museum and Big Data Center of Hebei International Studies University on site. In front of the campus panoramic sand table, Professor Adrian Price Howard expressed sincere admiration for the campus planning and profound cultural heritage; At the big data center, the delegation carefully observed scenes such as real-time data monitoring of smart campuses and demonstrations of intelligent teaching systems, and highly praised the uni's innovative practice of empowering education and teaching with technology. They believed that the relevant experience was worth learning from and promoting.
This visit and signing not only solidified the foundation of friendly cooperation between the two universities, but also built an important bridge for educational and cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries. Both sides expressed that they will take this cooperation as a new starting point, actively implement the content of the cooperation agreement, promote the implementation and effectiveness of various cooperation measures, jointly cultivate more high-quality talents with international perspectives, and contribute to promoting educational and cultural exchanges and mutual learning between China and foreign countries.
