The China-Costa Rica Education Cooperation and Development Forum Held at Hebei International Studies University: Forging New Chapter in Cooperation, Promoting Cultural Mutual Learning

On October 27th, the China-Costa Rica Education Cooperation and Development Forum with the theme of “Chinese Language Bridges Friendship, Cultural Exchange Promotes Mutual Understanding” was held at Hebei International Studies University. The holding of the forum has provided a platform for in-depth dialogue between the education sectors of China and Costa Rica, further consolidating the foundation of bilateral educational cooperation and facilitating the in-depth and solid development of the international dissemination of the Chinese language and cross-cultural exchanges.

Academician Sun Jianzhong, Chairman and President of Hebei International Studies University, Professor Xi Wei, Vice Chairman and Executive President, and other school leaders attended the forum. A delegation of guests from the Costa Rica education sector attended the event, including Ms. Carmen Isabel Claramunt Garro, the former president of the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Costa Rica, Mr. Albino Gerardo Miranda Corrales, the former president of the Ministry of Education of Costa Rica, and Ms. Maria Estrada Sàncher, the president of the Costa Rica Institute of Technology, and the heads of institutions such as the Claretiano Middle School and Jean Piaget Technical School, as well as Professor Constanza de Francesco Boeglin Claramuntro from the United World College, etc. Representatives from the China-Costa Rica Cultural and Educational Center were also invited to attend.

During the forum, Hebei International Studies University and the Costa Rica Institute of Technology held a signing ceremony. This signing ceremony marks a new stage of institutionalized and regularized development in the cooperation between the two universities, laying a solid institutional foundation for their subsequent in-depth cooperation in areas such as scientific research, mutual visits of teachers and students, and sharing of teaching resources.

During the keynote speech session, Guests from Costa Rica such as Carmen Isabel Claramunt Garro, Albino Gerardo Miranda Corrales, and Maria Estrada Sàncher delivered their speeches in turn. They systematically introduced the development characteristics and reform experiences of Costa Rica's education system, highly praised the achievements of China's education cause, and reaffirmed the urgent willingness to deepen cooperation with Chinese universities. They also put forward specific ideas for expanding cooperation in areas such as language teaching, vocational education, and academic exchanges, outlining a clear path for educational cooperation between China and Costa Rica.

This forum was practical in content and fruitful in results. It is not only an important practice of exchanges and mutual learning in the field of education between China and Costa Rica, but also a vivid demonstration of the continuous deepening of cultural and people-to-people exchanges between the two countries. Taking this forum as an opportunity, Hebei International Studies University will continue to deepen all-round cooperation with various educational institutions in Costa Rica, constantly expand the scope of cooperation and innovate cooperation models, and contribute more to enhancing mutual understanding and traditional friendship between the people of China and Costa Rica, and promoting the coordinated development and common prosperity of education at home and abroad.
